LEGEND
Most know, that Scythians were a great developed civilizations, that lived on the territory of Ukraine and a majority of their settlements were located in what is today, the Kirovograd region. This area is now home to the Park Hotel “Skifia”.

Papai – is the Heavenly God the creator of the world and people.
The life and customs of the Scythians were described by the ancient Greek historian Herodotus. In the 5th century AD, he visited the Northern Black Sea region and became acquainted with this nomadic people. During his travels, the “father of history” recorded an interesting legend about a place called Eksampey, which translates from Greek as “sacred paths.”
According to the legend, a huge bronze kettle was installed in the area as a symbol of Scythian tribes’ unity. The kettle was made from arrowheads, collected from the local population by the order of nomad king Ariant. Since that time Exampei had become one of the cult centers of Scythia. Every year agricultural festivities took place there, accompanied by magnificent and pompous activities in honor of the harvest.

Tabithi is the main Scythian Goddess of the hearth.
Most scientists believe that such a center could be located in the basin of the Sinykha river or in the confluence of the upper reaches of Tyasmin and Inhulets. And, therefore, in Kirovograd region, hundreds of Scythian antique items were identified and investigated. This is how the history of our region is connected with the Scythians.
The legend was written by the historian of the Central Ukrainian State University named after Volodymyr Vynnychenko, Head of archeological laboratory K. Panchenko.
